With little maintenance done for over a century, Hales Place Chapel is falling into disrepair. Canterbury City Council have stepped in to undertake work on the outside and grounds, but the interior needs a full restoration.

Friends of Hales Place Chapel are looking to undertake the following restoration programme:

• A full interior survey to itemise all the work required and the cost thereof
• Fundraising to support the restoration
• A phased project of works to return the Chapel to its former state of beauty
• An interactive plaque and website to allow visitors and pilgrims to learn more about the Chapel, its history and the stories of those still buried in its grounds

Not just piece of religious architectural history, Hales Place Chapel is the only physical link left to the original Hales Estate that covered a large part of North Canterbury. We want your children and your grandchildren to be able to touch this important piece of history and hand it on to future generations.
